FAQ

Questions, answered.

The trial

How does the free trial work?

We give you six weeks to experience the app, with no card required, and no commitment. During the trial you'll have access to all the app's features and the opening chapters of the guide. That's long enough for you to have a proper look at how Thrivo works and what it can do for you.

What happens when the six weeks end?

The trial never turns into a subscription on its own. When the trial ends you'll be asked whether you'd like to subscribe. If you don't, you're not charged and you'll lose access to the app — but your account and data stay put, so you can come back later.

Will I lose my data at the end of the trial?

No, you will not. At the end of the six weeks you'll lose access to the app unless you subscribe but you'll have the ability to export your data. If you don't subscribe we'll retain your data for 12 months unless you choose to delete your account in which case your personal data will be removed within 30 days.

Do I need to enter a card to start the trial?

No. An email address is all it takes.

Subscribing

How do I subscribe?

You can subscribe at any point during or after your trial. If you wish to subscribe during the trial you will find a subscribe link in the You screen of the app. Your subscription will start immediately. If you do reach the end of your six-week trial you'll be presented with your subscription options. Subscriptions are handled by the App Store.

Can I cancel?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Subscriptions are managed through the App Store, so you cancel from your Apple ID settings in a few taps — no email to send, no retention call. Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep access until the end of the month or year you've already paid for, and that period isn't refunded.

Does the trial automatically convert to a subscription?

No. At the end of the trial you choose whether you want to subscribe. We would love you to join us, but unless you deliberately choose to subscribe, you won't be.

Does the subscription renew automatically?

Yes. Once you've chosen to subscribe, it renews at the end of each month or year, like any App Store subscription, until you cancel. If you don't want the subscription to continue you need to give Apple notice at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too. You can request one from your App Store purchase history. Apple decides on refunds, not us — but if something's gone wrong, get in touch and we'll do what we can.

Why is there no free tier?

Because what makes Thrivo special is the breadth of content and features. A free tier with limited functionality would not be as effective. Free tiers are also paid for by advertising, by upselling, or by design that keeps you opening the app regularly rather than closing it and living your life, which would detract from the app experience.

Is there a family or team plan?

Not yet. Individual plans only for now. If you're interested in Thrivo for a team or organisation, see the For Business page.

Using Thrivo

Which devices does it work on?

iPhone at launch. Android is planned and we'll announce a date when we can commit to one. We'd rather ship one platform properly than two poorly.

Which countries is Thrivo available in?

The UK at launch. Other regions will follow, and each will have its own pricing and launch date — use the region selector at the bottom of any page to see where things stand for you. If your region isn't live yet, joining the waitlist is the best way to hear when it is.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Most of Thrivo works without a connection — the guide, your habits, your workouts. It syncs when you're back online.

How long does it take each day?

As little as a few minutes. A chapter takes around 15 minutes to read. The habits you choose are small by design — a consistent bedtime, a ten-minute walk. Thrivo is built to fit into a full life, not another task for you to add to your list.

What if I miss a day?

The plan carries on. There are no streaks to break, no guilt notifications, no points to lose. Something small beats nothing, and nothing today doesn't undo yesterday.

Do I have to follow the order?

The guide is sequenced for a reason: the foundations make everything after them more achievable. You choose which habits fit your life within each chapter, but the chapters build on one another, so yes — the order is the point.

Is strength training the main feature?

No. It's one of the tools, alongside breathing exercises, a journal and more. The guide is the heart of Thrivo; the tools support what the guide asks of you.

What Thrivo is and isn't

Is Thrivo a medical app?

No. Thrivo is a guide to everyday health and wellbeing — sleep, stress, movement, food, mindset. It isn't a treatment, a diagnosis, or a substitute for a doctor or therapist. If you're unwell, see a professional. Thrivo can work alongside professional care, but not instead of it.

Can I use it alongside therapy or medication?

That's a question for the professional treating you, not for us. Thrivo is a general wellbeing app, not a medical or therapy service, and it isn't tailored to any condition or treatment. If you're under care for your sleep, mental health, diet or anything else, talk to your clinician before changing your routine, and don't change any treatment or medication because of something in the app.

Is the advice based on evidence?

Yes, and where the evidence is contested, we say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What makes Thrivo different?

Most health and wellbeing apps focus on either mental health or physical health, not both. But our body and mind are one interconnected system and there are many things that contribute to a happy and healthy life. No one thing alone can provide health or happiness. And many elements interact with one another. For example, sleep affects what you eat and drink, and what you eat and drink affects your sleep. So Thrivo is designed to bring these elements together to maximise your chances of building a genuinely happy and healthy life.

Privacy and data

What data do you collect?

What you record in the app — habits, check-ins, workouts, journal entries — plus your account details. We collect as little as we can and store it securely. We don't sell data and we don't share it with third parties such as advertisers. Privacy is a right, not a luxury. For the full details, see our privacy policy.

Can I export my data?

Yes, at any time, regardless of whether you're subscribed. If you have an active subscription, go to You → Your account → Export my data in the app. If you don't, you'll see an Export my data link on the subscription screen when you open the app.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, from within the app, at any time. In the app navigate to You → Your account → Delete account. Deleting your account removes your personal data from Thrivo. You will be asked to confirm before anything is deleted. It cannot be undone. If you think you might come back, logging out and leaving your account intact is a better option.

Does the website use cookies?

No. There's nothing to accept because there's nothing set. We count visits without identifying visitors.

Getting help

How do I contact you?

In the app navigate to You → Help and support → Contact us. If you're unable to access the app, contact us at support@thrivo.co.

I found a bug. What should I do?

Please tell us so we can fix it. In the app navigate to You → Help and support → Contact us and then select "Bug report" from the dropdown menu. Include what you were doing, what happened, and what you expected to happen. The more information you provide the quicker we can fix it.
